From the World Cup to the United Cup: Palm Beach Blue Ready to Defend Their Title

The 2026 FIFA World Cup may be over, but here on the Gold Coast, there is still plenty of exciting football ahead.

On Sunday, 26 July, the Palm Beach Blue Under 10 boys will compete in the annual Gold Coast United Cup at Coplick Family Sports Park in Tallebudgera.

This popular development tournament brings together community teams from Under 8 through to Under 12 for a full day of junior football. For Palm Beach Blue, this year’s tournament is particularly special—the boys will arrive as defending champions after winning the competition last year.

A terrific season for Palm Beach Blue

The Palm Beach Blue boys have enjoyed an outstanding 2026 season, producing some impressive results while continuing to develop their skills, teamwork and confidence.

Their season has included:

• Three wins against Kingscliff to begin March
• A 7–2 victory over Murwillumbah
• A 5–0 win on 21 March
• A 5–1 victory over Robina
• A 4–0 win against Magic
• A close 3–2 victory over Kingscliff
• A 10–0 win against the developing Palm Beach Futures team
• An 8–1 victory on 10 May
• A 12–1 win over Kingscliff
• A thrilling 6–5 match against Palm Beach White
• A 7–1 victory over Murwillumbah
• A 12–1 win against Burleigh
• A 7–0 victory over Tweed

There have been plenty of goals, assists, great saves and determined defensive efforts along the way. Most importantly, the boys have continued to play as a team and enjoy their football.

Jax’s 2026 season

It has also been a memorable season for our own Jax, who has worn his Alpha Skins throughout the year.

Jax has now recorded 15 goals and five assists, including:

• Two goals against Kingscliff to begin the season
• Two goals against Robina
• Two assists against Magic
• One goal against Palm Beach Futures
• Two headed goals on 10 May
• One goal and two assists against Palm Beach White
• Three goals against Burleigh
• Goals against Murwillumbah, Tweed and other opponents throughout the season

While goals are always exciting, Jax’s assists, teamwork and contribution across the field have been equally important.

Palm Beach Blue will head into the 2026 United Cup proud of what they have achieved this season and ready to defend the title they won last year.
